The History

    Alpha Chi Omega was founded on October 15, 1885, at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. At a time when women were just beginning to occupy seats in college classrooms, seven female students were encouraged to form a women's society within the school.


    Dedicated to advancing "the intellectual, social, & moral culture," of its members, our founders' visions has grown to include our women's Fraternity, the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, 8 the National Housing Corporation. Together, they serve more than 200,000 members in more than 130 collegiate chapters & 200 alumnae chapters nationwide.

    At the beginning of 2020, Alpha Chi Omega headquarters refreshed our vision, mission, and brand! While we have this exciting new update, our roots stay true in being real, strong women.

Foundation Mission Statement: The Alpha Chi Omega Foundation strives sustain that educational & philanthropic values of Alpha Chi Omega through successful fundraising & stewardship. Generous gifts from our members & friends enhance the Real. Strong. Women. Experience & empower our members to impact their communities & world positively.

About Delta Rho

    The Delta Rho chapter of Alpha Chi Omega at the University of Arkansas was established on
November 10, 2012. Since then we have expanded 8 grown our chapter to have nearly 500 current members have become an integral component on campus! Delta Rho is currently the largest Alpha Chi chapter in the country! We aim to better ourselves & to become the women we wish to be, & that is real, strong women of Alpha Chi Omega.

    Membership in Alpha Chi Omega at the University of Arkansas combines the best of all worlds, the privilege, leadership opportunities, & the fun of a fully-developed calendar that includes philanthropy & social events planned with fraternities, sororities, & other campus organization. For Alpha Chi Omega, sisterhood & friendship are one in the same. We recruit real. genuine women that are interested in gaining a lasting friendship.
