What can I gain from joining a sorority at the U of A?

Sorority life gives members the opportunity to partake in leadership positions, community events, intramural sports, and social activities (i.e. chapter, dinners, formals, and parents weekends). A sorority provides opportunities to make lifelong friendships through an unbreakable bond.  Here at the University of Arkansas you will have many memorable experiences that will last a lifetime. In addition, sorority membership provides networking opportunities in the professional world with connections you form in Alpha Chi Omega and Greek life.

What is a new member class?

Your new member class will include all of the women who receive their bid from Alpha Chi Omega. You will learn the values of Alpha Chi Omega along side your new sisters. After the new member period, your new member class will be initiated together to become lifetime members of Alpha Chi Omega. Along the way, we have several events that provide lots of time to get to know your new sisters and make memories that will last forever. This group will go through the education program together in order to help new members make a smooth transition to college life while learning the history of Alpha Chi Omega.

Who will lead me through my new member process before initiation?

Your Vice President of New Member Education will lead you through the new member process called Dedication! The VP of New Member Education, along with several dedication facilitators, will teach you about Alpha Chi Omega while you get to know a small group of sisters in the process. They will, also, prepare you for initiation and be in charge of your new member retreat. Your vice president will always be available for any questions or concerns you may have throughout your new member period. She will also pair new members with a "Alpha," "Chi," and "Omega" sisters each week to help welcome you into the sisterhood, meet new sisters, and find your big!

Does Alpha Chi Omega haze their new members?

We absolutely DO NOT haze our new members. There is no hazing of any kind and it is NEVER tolerated.  Your new member process and your sisterhood experience beyond that will be filled with amazing sisterhood, philanthropy, and greek events to help you get to know your new member class and the rest of the chapter. We, also, absolutely love the build up to big/little reveal where you will be showered gifts and then you'll find out who your big is later that week!
